St Hallet is an icon of the Barossa Valley, perhaps one could deem them as the icon. Drinking their Old Block Shiraz is to know a thing of beauty. This is one that regularly delights the critics and finds its way into the most discerning cellars. Halliday Wine Companion review: "Elegant and perfumed wine, reflecting the cool vintage to best effect. Black cherry and berry, long and supple in the mouth, with some cedary oak and finely wrought tannins. Always a classy wine, the first vintage put St Hallett on the road to where it is today."

This is magnificent wine. From Penley Estate's very top of the range, it’s garnered nothing but superlatives in its praise. It’s spectacularly intense in flavour and concentration, without being unwieldy in weight. Coonawarra at its towering best. Halliday Wine Companion review: "A 65/45 split, whole berries, fermented separately and aged 18 months in French oak, 50% new. There's a certain power and depth built into this. Awash with dark fruit and darker spices, fuller bodied, with a gloss and a shine to the tannins that make it appealing. It's going to age superbly."

So very expressive, Kilikanoon’s Oracle shiraz is an absolute stunner. This wine has been carefully crafted from the best Shiraz fruit grown on the Golden Hillside vineyard since 1997. This is a phenomenal wine designed to reflect the regality that is the Clare Valley terroir. Concentrated parcels of fruit from the lowest yielding vines are carefully treated before spending 18 months in new and seasoned French oak. It’s silky smooth with layered olive tapenade, dark chocolate, aniseed and hints of licorice, cinnamon and clove. Halliday Wine Companion review: "Long an iconic wine, particularly among American critics, this has revealed a lighter shade of late. The fruit, no longer desiccated. Dense and impressive, if this is your schtick. Powerful, sure. But energetic, long and far from drying. An arsenal of sexy oak meets liquorice back strap, smoked meats, blue to black fruits and a squeegee of anise-scented acidity."

One of our bestselling wines from Haselgrove is back with a bang (for your buck). Previous vintages of The Lear have been awarded 95+pts. The proof is in the pudding and mofos have gone mad for this shiraz. It’s rich, full-bodied and brimming with luxurious McLaren Vale fruity-chocolatey notes. There’s some of the very best grapes in the region here, held together by a generous touch of French oak. Halliday Wine Companion review: "A vineyard cull across the estate's best sites and their respective mesoclimates. Sumptuous and rich. Violet, anise, molten raspberry liqueur and coffee grind are groomed by impeccably integrated French oak and ripples of judiciously extracted grape tannins, pithy and tactile. The piste of flavour is smooth and long. An enjoyable wine, plucked, tweaked and manicured with great skill. Immense pleasure, here."

Gold Global Cabernet Masters London
Five Red Star Halliday Rated Winery

This cabernet is sourced from a single vineyard in the Adelaide Hills, grown on their estate. Whilst spending a period of time in oak, the wine developed notes of cedar and soft chalky tannins. The nose is a delightful bouquet of blackcurrants and choc-mint, with a delicate herbal note of bayleaf coming through. It’s bursting with blackberry and cassis, blueberries and is all tied together harmoniously. Halliday Wine Companion review: "Matured in French oak barriques (40% new) for 18 months. A most assured and complex example of Hills cabernet, rivetingly so. Instantly cabernet with the scent of violets, lavender, black and red berries, thyme and a gentle leafiness. Lovely integration across the palate with seamless oak and integrated, powdery tannins drawing the drinker in. Quite a presence in the glass."
